New favorite pants? I think so!

Happy New Year everyone! New Year's resolution: perhaps post on this blog at least once every week to check in and say what's what? Let's try that on for size!

And how am I starting my new year? By watching Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Good movie. Some bad acting but it's a classic. So you gotta love it. I mean they thought Spock was dead but then he came back to life! It's pretty damn epic.

I'm fairly certain that we will watch The Holiday next. Because my father has never seen it and that has to be fixed. Anyway I just realized that I hadn't posted anything for quite some time and that now might be a good time to post a blog and say Happy New Year! So yeah... Happy New Year, hope it's a good one. I don't really do New Year's resolutions but if I had to do one, then it would probably have to do with going to the gym at least three times a week next semester because I really do need to lose weight. And luckily I have a friend who will go with me. Second would be to write in this blog at least once a week, as stated above. So yep! Hope everyone has a happy new year! Because I sure as hell am going to have a good year. There's no stopping it!

Wine tasting and Cinnamon rolls!

So after many years of taking the smallest sip possible from my mother's wine glass(just a taste because I'm a wuss like that) to see whether or not I like it, I finally changed my strategy. Tonight I took my mother's glass and took a big swig thinking, "Perhaps the way to go about this, is to just drink so much that I won't be able to taste anything else ever again..." but nope. It wasn't the worst wine I've ever had... But it was definitely not my favorite. And it's not like I just don't like wine, I actually have a for real favorite! I just don't remember what it was called.. It was a girly pink nothing wine but I liked it.

Then we ate dinner: Papardelle with Wild Boar, we're so stinking fancy!

After dinner it was time to put the angel on the tree and make some cinnamon rolls from scratch for the first time ever because there aren't any canned cinnamon rolls in this country! We put the ingredients for dough in the bread machine before dinner so it would be done after dinner. So it was ready when we went out there and started to get it ready.

The preparation was going wonderfully! I had the dough rolled out, I preheated the oven to 350, I had melted butter in the pan.... I finished sprinkling the filling on the dough and rolled it up and got ready to cut it. I cut the roll up and put it in the pan. Then I looked back at the instructions.

"Cut into 1 1/2 inch sections. Cover and leave to rise in warm oven for 30 minutes...." I definitely hadn't cut them into one and a half inch sections. And I preheated the oven.... So I stacked them and we're waiting for the oven to cool down... We'll see how the turn out after I bake them. But it was certainly an adventure!

Ho ho ho! Merry... Trojan Horse??

So I tried to use Google Chrome just like I normally do and for some reason it just decided that it was going to have a trojan horse! Whatever... It'll either fix it itself like my computer always does, or it'll be an asshole and I'll need a new computer. Which would be fun but it's Christmas and this is so not the time to need to buy a new computer.

I'm super jealous of all my friends who are living at AFNORTH right now because you guys have so much snow right now and we've got none. But we do have a lot of rain...

Here are some random thoughts that are just popping into my head now:

I want some pointy ear tip things, you know like a vulcan, or an elf, or any other thing that you can use pointy ear tips for. Werewolf! I could make a kick ass werewolf costume! Or at least a makeup design.. Hmm!

I want to be Wonder Woman at some point for Halloween. But I also want to be Morticia Addams for Halloween. So we'll see what's up for next year. ; )

Santa Clause 3 is definitely the worst one in the entire franchise. But I also kind of like it. Especially now that there's some action going on. And now Martin Short is singing New York, New York but with the words North Pole instead of New York.. Gosh this is insane. I'm slightly worried about my computer but this movie is taking my mind off of it so I'm just going to enjoy it. Hahaha, yeah...

I think it's time to stop blogging. Yes indeed.

I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my... toes!

Christmas is all around us, so come on and let it snow!

Guess who just watched Love Actually for the third time this month? That's right. It's me.  It is probably my new favorite movie. The stories are just awesome and I love the actors. Liam Neeson has been one of my favorite actors ever since he played Qui Gon Jinn in Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace. Emma Thompson is just spectacular. Alan Rickman. Need I say more? Bill Nighy is absolutely hilarious as the washed up rock star. Granted I did miss the tentacles....

After Love Actually was done playing on AFN(Armed Forces Network for those of you who haven't ever lived overseas as a dependent of a member of the United State Military), and done making me think about how much I want a boyfriend(it'll happen at some point, que sera sera), the Nativity Story came on to which my mother's reply was, "OH GOD! We can watch Big Bang Theory." So now, as I have been for the past couple of nights, I am watching Big Bang Theory. I feel like they're members of my family. Weird members of my family... And I always feel smarter after watching an episode or two(or five).

Wil Wheaton has been a guest star on the show for a couple of the past episodes and he is such a DOUCHE!!  I just want to punch him in the face! I never wanted to do that to Wesley Crusher, at least not for the same reason. Wesley Crusher was just a bit too... I really don't know what it was about him that bothered me.. He was just so.... I don't know. Badly acted? Perhaps. It was just bad.

Guess who finally overcame jet lag? Me! Except probably not... I think I got to sleep before 1 AM last night but I'm not sure. My little brother discovered live chat on Xbox and was talking to somebody very loudly until at least 12:30 when he felt the need to proclaim, "FOR MY COUNTRY!" causing me to jump from my bed(much like in the Night Before Christmas) and go to his room. "It's time to be quiet. I don't care if you keep playing but after this mission you will go into silent mode, or FOR MY COUNTRY, I WILL KILL YOU!" He soon went into silent mode, and I'm pretty sure I got to sleep before one o'clock! I was quite pleased with myself.

We had leftovers for dinner and it was marvelous. My favorite color is purple. My dog's name is Muffin and she's a black lab/golden retriever mix. Just thought I'd throw in some mundane stuff. Merry Christmas Eve Eve guys!

Happy Holidaze!

There's a hole in my bucket dear Liza, dear Liza, there's a hole in my bucket dear Liza a hole!

I found a knitting pattern for the Reindeer hat that the US Olympic team wore for the opening ceremonies and I'm totally going to knit one.  This one: http://www.teamusashop.com/Olympics_USA_Olympics/Polo_Ralph_Lauren_Team_USA_Opening_Ceremony_Hat

I'm super excited. But I think I need to get some yarn specifically for this hat.

Currently I'm sitting in my living room in Italy, watching FRIENDS on DVD. And it's awesome because I don't really remember this episode at all! So I'm really excited.  I want to write more in this blog but I don't have any idea what to write about. Oh wow, I love this girl's coat! I wish you could wear leather coats year round and not have to worry about them getting ruined if they get wet. This is what happens when a girl with ADHD watches TV while trying to write a blog.

I think it's time for me to stop typing now and just watch TV and knit. Thanks for reading to anyone who reads this!! Merry Christmas! Happy Holidaze! I think that is possibly one of the coolest words ever and it's totally not new but I only just learned it so now I'm using it. Yep. Happy Holidaze!

Obligatory Post

I'm trying to post a blog every day. How's that working for me? I forgot about this until just now and I've been asleep since about 8:30. My father put Pelham 1 2 3 into the DVD player somewhere around 8 and I'm not sure I even made it through the opening scene thing. There were some people with trains and stuff..... Yeah there's no way I made it.

Today I got my hair cut and it came out exactly like I wanted, so I'm happy. The lady who did it though, made it really curly with a lot of mousse so when I came home and brushed through it, my hair got really big. I looked like Hermione before she ever did anything with her hair in the movies. I looked like Sorcerer's Stone Hermione when she pops into their compartment on the train, "Did you see a toad? A boy named Neville's lost one."

Now I'm making myself want to watch Harry Potter. I think that might be a thing to do tomorrow while I wrap presents for my family.

I also want terribly to knit a hat that I saw on Big Bang Theory. It was a Santa hat with two pointy bits and it was really cute. But instead of doing that, I think I'm going to knit a scarf out of all the yarns that I have in my stash.  I'm just rambling now.... It's exciting.

Because of this I think it is time for me to stop writing and congratulate myself on the fact that I have written a second blog entry. These are not meant to be especially meaningful so I think I'm doing quite well with the whole thing. Expect another meaningless post tomorrow. And if it's not here then I've gone and forgotten about my blog again. Nighty night!

Reasons...

Why do we do anything? Because we want to!

...

Also because our friends have tired of our numerous Facebook posts. So here I am! Writing a blog. Fun. Right?

My name is Kristen, but my friends call me.. well they call me Kristen, except for a few really close friends who call me Mama. I've never had a nickname (except for Mama) that many have called me so I'm hoping for one before the school year is over. We shall see!

I'm currently a freshman Vocal Performance student at Penn State and a Thespians pledge. I starred in my first college show this semester with Thespians which only made me even happier to be pledging. Seriously if you go to Penn State, or are thinking about it, you should definitely pledge Thespians. It's my favorite.

I've lived overseas for the past nine years of my life in Italy, the Netherlands, France, and Belgium. It's not that different for me, but it seems to be that everyone finds it extremely interesting. I've also been told numerous times that I speak wonderful English. "Well I should. Shouldn't I? I was born in San Antonio!"

Freshman year is a hard thing to go through. I'm just saying it now for anyone who is applying for college or who is in college and doesn't want to admit it. It's hard. It's completely different from High School and anything else you have ever experienced. I'm trying to get through it in one piece and so far I am, but there's still an entire other semester to get through. I'm doing it. It's working.

Now for some levity! A man walks into a psychiatrist's office with a duck on his head. The psychiatrist says, "Can I help you?"  The duck says, "Yeah! Get this guy off my ass!"

And Scene.......
