Wine tasting and Cinnamon rolls!

So after many years of taking the smallest sip possible from my mother's wine glass(just a taste because I'm a wuss like that) to see whether or not I like it, I finally changed my strategy. Tonight I took my mother's glass and took a big swig thinking, "Perhaps the way to go about this, is to just drink so much that I won't be able to taste anything else ever again..." but nope. It wasn't the worst wine I've ever had... But it was definitely not my favorite. And it's not like I just don't like wine, I actually have a for real favorite! I just don't remember what it was called.. It was a girly pink nothing wine but I liked it.

Then we ate dinner: Papardelle with Wild Boar, we're so stinking fancy!

After dinner it was time to put the angel on the tree and make some cinnamon rolls from scratch for the first time ever because there aren't any canned cinnamon rolls in this country! We put the ingredients for dough in the bread machine before dinner so it would be done after dinner. So it was ready when we went out there and started to get it ready.

The preparation was going wonderfully! I had the dough rolled out, I preheated the oven to 350, I had melted butter in the pan.... I finished sprinkling the filling on the dough and rolled it up and got ready to cut it. I cut the roll up and put it in the pan. Then I looked back at the instructions.

"Cut into 1 1/2 inch sections. Cover and leave to rise in warm oven for 30 minutes...." I definitely hadn't cut them into one and a half inch sections. And I preheated the oven.... So I stacked them and we're waiting for the oven to cool down... We'll see how the turn out after I bake them. But it was certainly an adventure!

  1. You forgot to mention that we needed to use Italian yeast and we weren't sure how much to use. Plus we have to convert the oven temp from celsius to fahrenheit but other than that... it's just the same as at home in the States!
